Korn Announce Second Leg of Tour Dates

(New York, NY): Fresh off the hugely successful first leg of dates in support of their recently released album The Path of Totality, Korn are returning to the road for the second leg of the Path of Totality Tour. The new batch of dates kick off on February 23 in Detroit, running through the Midwest before heading back West and wrapping up on March 4 in San Francisco. Kill the Noise will provide support on certain dates, while Korn’s own Jonathan Davis will also debut his brand new DJ set as his J Devil alter ego. I normally steer pretty wide around the Grammys, cynical old broad I tend to be, but this year I got myself tangled in what I have now dubbed Chorney-gate. For those who don’t know, there is a segment of the Americana crowd in an uproar about the nomination of a previously unknown artist, Linda Chorney, in that category. Sure, there are disagreements with the nominees every year, but this “debate” has taken on a particularly nasty, personal tone that is downright appalling — some are going as far as calling for Chorney to give up her nomination. The Melismatics to Release “MANIA!” on Pravda Records January 10th

Minneapolis rock band The Melismatics are set to release their latest album, “MANIA!” on January 10th through Chicago’s Pravda Records. They’ll start a national tour on January 12th at the Zoo Bar in Lincoln before heading to the West coast. “MANIA!” was produced by Jon Auer of The Posies and Big Star, along with Ed Ackerson (Motion City Soundtrack, Golden Smog, The Replacements) and was mixed by John Fields. The LP features collaborations with Dan Wilson (Adele, Semisonic) and Jon Auer who lends vocals to several tracks. The Melismatics formed at the turn of the century in the fertile ground of the Minneapolis indie-rock scene. Killswitch Engage and Singer Howard Jones Part Ways

The members of Killswitch Engage released a formal statement today officially ending their on-again, off-again relationship with vocalist Howard Jones. “To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we’ve had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision.
